oh.. and about the election..
i know. i'm a little late with my opinion* about what happened. but. i was "electioned out" long before the second rolled around.
i've reserved a number of expletives to describe how i feel about the re-election of The Lying Monkey, but i'll spare you the swears and just say it does make me very unhappy. voter turnout and general enthusiasm about the election (regardless of partisanship) makes the sting a little more tolerable.. along with the idea that he can't run again..
it's been pretty interesting these past few days to watch his cabinet disappear. the resignation of mr. john ashcroft sits right up there with the ol' college president's. (IMPEACH KEVIN!) it'll be interesting (i must find a better adjective than interesting. i find i use it too often and it lacks.. luster i sometimes want that word to provide) to see ol' condy rice as our secretary of state even though i trust her about as far as i can punt her. i don't trust her as far as david humphreys could punt her. ick.
the job canvassing has made me a little more.. enthusiastic.. about our political state.. i've taken a step up from the casual observer, i think. although i didn't much like that job for the most part - knocking on doors bothering people about the election isn't my dream job.. it made me pretty uncomfortable.. especially since i like to avoid confrontation whenever possible and this job sort of promoted it. but it paid october's rent and made me feel like i was doing something more than just complaining.
it's nice to see Harry Reid as senate minority leader. he's a nevadan. i'm one of those people that sends letters to my senators. i like to pretend i'm a part of the democratic process. i do what i can, if only to say i did what i could.
but whatever. i have homework to do.
*i can't remember where he came across it, but my dad told me this funny thing about how much opinion there is out there on the internet.. i wish i could remember exactly what he said or at least where he heard it. it would make this asterisk so much more interesting.. er.. captivating.. but i laughed at the time, because i know how full the internet is of people saying what they think about things.. everyone has an opinion.. they're like kittens they were giving them away..
