she's a monkey, she's a rat..

she's a supermonkeyrat!

that's hazel. climbing down from the shelf in the top of my closet. she climbed up there without any help from me. she's super. as i walked over to her to take her picture, though, she was a little more focused on me and not as focused as she should've been on the moving hangers she was climbing onto. she was grateful to have a steadfast arm-bridge to use.

that's pretty much the coolest thing to happen over the last couple of days. i've mostly been hunkered down in my humble abode for studying purposes. writing papers. editing a group paper. listening (for analysis purposes) to tchaikovsky. waving my arms around to practice for conducting. next week is my Big Week as far as this semester is concerned. after this week, life is grand.

after. this. week. i'm not technically done until the week after next. one actual written final to take. (one take home final and another that's taking the form of a presentation on a tchaikovsky symphony) woo!

i'm not sure it's a good idea to already have li'l plans for things i want to do when i'm done with school. i have a book pile i've been eyeing. (not that i haven't stopped reading for fun while being all hecticized with school. i just finished A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. i almost wish i had read it as my adolescent girl self. it suited my sunday tradition of taking a hot bath, drinking a cup of hot, black coffee and reading just fine.)

yes. anyhoo. it's late and i have class in the morning. wee! only a week or so of getting up to go to these classes!

It would be interesting to know where Hazel has been that you don't know about.
